Privacy policy

The short answer is almost nothing. Here is the longer one: what gets gathered, what deliberately does not, and where an email address goes if you hand one over.

The short version

Every page here is prerendered and served as a flat file. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers and no profile of you anywhere. The one piece of personal information this site is capable of holding is an email address you typed into the reminder form yourself.

Analytics

If analytics are running on this site they are privacy-preserving and aggregate: page views, referrer and country, with no cookie and no cross-site identifier. We use them to learn which cards people actually read. They cannot identify you and we could not single you out from them if we wanted to.

The reminder list

The form on these pages asks for an email address and nothing else. It is used to send occasional notes when a rule, a price or a procedure on this site changes and a card has been re-read.

The address is not sold, rented, traded or passed to any vendor mentioned on this site. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and replying with the word "stop" works just as well. Ask us to delete the record entirely and it is deleted rather than flagged.

Some links on this site pass through our own /go/ path before arriving at a provider. That hop exists so that a partner link can be changed in one file rather than in fifty pages of copy; it records nothing about you beyond what any ordinary web request records.

Once you arrive at a provider's site you are subject to that company's privacy practices, which are theirs and not ours. Providers named here are large companies with their own policies; reading them is worthwhile before you hand one your registration details.

Fonts and assets

Web fonts are served from this site's own domain rather than fetched from a third-party font host at page load, so rendering a page here does not disclose your visit to anyone else.

Children

The subject matter here is registration paperwork bought by businesses, and nothing on the site is aimed at children. No information is knowingly gathered from anybody under the age of sixteen.

Changes and contact

Material changes to this policy are published on this page with a revised date rather than announced by email. Questions about anything above go to [email protected], or via the contact page.
